I love the way this simple tote bag turned out! All you need is a tote bag, a fabric pen, and an idea of something you’d like to doodle.

For my bag, I used a green fabric pen and decided on making these little mountains. I put cardboard inside the bag as a backup for bleeding ink, but the tote was thick enough that I didn’t need it. I drew the basic pattern, then went back thru as darkened each line. If you are nervous to draw directly on your bag with permanent ink, use a fabric pencil or chalk and draw straight on to your tote. Then you can draw with your fabric pen when you are done. If you can see any of the pencil marks at the end, wipe them off with a damp cloth or machine wash the tote after the ink has set.
