First of all, I think it’s important to point out how hideous this jumper originally was. The color, the length. Oh my. When I found it at the thrift store, I thought that it was one the worst pieces I’ve purchased, but it fit my belly so I had to come up with something to do with it. And I like a challenge. I’m pretty stoked with the result.
I did three easy things. First, I used dark brown Rit dye to dye it a chocolate brown(how to dye your clothes tutorial here). Then I adjusted the straps so that the waist seam didn’t hit me at the largest part of my belly and added new buttons. Lastly, I took the hem up. It was one of the easiest upcyclings I’ve done and the results are pretty drastic. It will be noce to have a roomy skirt now that we’ve officially hit summer. It’s summer! Woot!
